Coordinator for the PhD program

Hanken is looking for a Substitute for a Coordinator for the PhD program (22.7.2024-31.8.2025)

Come and develop Hanken’s PhD program together with the Program Director and other colleagues in the Research Funding Services team!

You will be responsible for coordinating Hanken’s PhD program which covers student support, introduction days for doctoral researchers and administrative tasks. The workplace will be Helsinki.

This job is for you if you are service minded, enjoy teamwork, planning and working in an international environment, and like developing processes. 

As a coordinator, you will assist doctoral researchers and academic staff when it comes to study affairs within the PhD program. Service will be mostly in English. Study services include follow-up of doctoral researchers’ progress, assisting with planning of studies and updating the program’s website. You will manage the process of pre-examination of dissertations all the way to the completion of studies. You will also be the secretary of the Doctoral Studies Council and develop processes within the doctoral program.

The required minimum qualification for the job is a higher education degree, but a doctoral degree is considered a merit. You will need good skills in MS Excel and preferably also in e-lomake and Sisu, with excellent spoken and written English. Knowledge of Swedish and/or Finnish is a merit. Experience and knowledge of university administration is an advantage as is an in-depth knowledge of work in admissions. 

The job requires good organizational skills, thoroughness, and flexibility, with stress tolerance, good collaborative skills, the ability to take initiative, service mindedness and an interest in international studies.

The requirement level for the job is either a 9 or 10 on the universities’ salary scale. On top of this, the salary will include a personal salary element depending on qualifications and experience. The total salary will be 3700-4500 euros /month.
